The 2008 Taiwan Research Visiting Scholar Grant program, funded by the Ministry of Education in Taiwan, aims to promote independent or collaborative research on Taiwan-related topics by overseas scholars.The grant invites 5 Australian academics as well as government officials in educational departments who are interested in, or have conducted, research in history, linguistics, cultural studies, political science, economics, sociology, law, commerce, management, and education in relation to Taiwan.
An Economy Class return airfare ticket and Local daily allowance of USD$200.00 will be offered (this is inclusive of the arrival and departure days). Visiting research period will be subject to the proposed research, but is to be no more than 3 weeks (21 days)
Australian Citizens without previously received an award under this Grant program are welcome to apply. Academics should apply directly to the Cultural Division. Government officials are subject to be selected and nominated by the Federal Department of Education, Science and Training, and the State Department of Education, and must then be invited by the Cultural Division.
